Common Module on Unmanned Aerial Systems (UASs) at Hellenic Air Force Academy (HAFA)

From Monday 27th until Friday 31st of March 2023, at the Hellenic Air Force Academy took place the Common Module on Unmanned Aerial Systems (UASs), which was organized by Hellenic Air Force Academy, under the auspices of European Security and Defence College (ESDC), with the participation of cadets from Hellenic Military Academies, Hellenic Police Academy, Hellenic Coast Guard Officers Academy and college students from Hellenic Universities.

Specifically in the Common Module on UASs participated 45 students from the Hellenic Air Force Academy, Hellenic Naval Academy, Hellenic Police Academy, Hellenic Coast Guard Academy, Spanish Air Force Academy, Polish Military University of Technology, Romanian Naval Academy, Estonian Military Academy, University of Macedonia, University of West Attica, Institute of International Relationships, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, National Kapodistrian University of Athens and the National Technical University of Athens.

The lectures that took place were about the basic principles of technologies supported by Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and their applications, specifications and classification of different categories, types and sensors of UASs used for civilian and military applications as well as about the different perspectives on the integration of UAS into Common European Security and Defense Policy missions.

The professors and lecturers who took part in the seminar were from Hellenic Air Force Academy, European Defence Agency (EDA), European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex), Air Tactics Centerof Hellenic Air Force, 390 UAVs Squadron of Hellenic Air Force, Drops Smart Hubs Company, Hellenic Aerospace Industry and University of West Attica.
