Common Training Module on Unmanned Aircraft Systems – Common Module UAS

The Hellenic Air Force Academy, in the context of continuously strengthening military and academic cooperation at the European level, successfully organized the Common Module on Unmanned Aerial Systems, in collaboration with the European Security and Defence College (ESDC).

The training module took place from 20 to 24 April 2026 at the premises of the Hellenic Air Force Academy. It included theoretical lectures, demonstrations using a UAS and the exchange of best practices in the rapidly evolving field of unmanned systems.

Participants in the training included cadets from European military educational institutions (Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Spain, Lithuania, and Poland), students from Greek universities, as well as trainees from public security academies, thereby strengthening multilateral cooperation and fostering a common understanding of contemporary security and defense issues.

Lectures were delivered by distinguished representatives of the Hellenic Air Force and the Hellenic Air Force Academy, the Hellenic Center for Defence Innovation (HCDI), QUALCO S.A.company, UCANDRONE company, the ATHENA Research Center, HELLENIC DRONES company, as well as staff from universities and foreign military academies (Coventry University, Cranfield University, Lithuanian Land Forces).

This initiative is part of the broader EMILYO (European Initiative for the Exchange of Military Young Officers) framework, promoting academic and professional convergence among military, academic, and business stakeholders in the fields of technology, security, and defence.
