On Thursday, July 11, 2024, the updated special protocol of cooperation was signed between the Open University of Cyprus (OUC) and the Hellenic Air Force Academy (HAFA) for the offering of a Joint Master’s Program (MSc) entitled “Security and Defence”.
The agreement, formalizing the academic collaboration between the two institutions, was signed in Athens at Dekelia Air Base – HAFA. The signing was conducted by Major General Grigorios Karampitianis, Commander of HAFA, and Professor Petros Passiardis, Rector of the Open University of Cyprus. The partnership will offer a Joint Master’s Degree Program in “Security and Defence,” taught in English and delivered via distance learning.
The new Joint Master’s Program has been designed with the close cooperation of the two Academic Institutions taking advantage of their rich experience in matters of security, defense and cyber security. The Program is structured in 3 semesters offering in total ninety (90) ECTS credits. The Joint Master’s Program is anticipated to commence shortly, pending final approval from both the Greek Ministries of Defense and Education. The program has already been assessed and certified by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA).
